One of Scotland’s Best Coastal Locations
The well known Scottish writer, Robert Heron, said in the 1700s of Kirkdale that it is one of the best coastal sites in Scotland: “The house of Kirkdale, among the most advantageously situate in Scotland, rises to the eye with a sort of magic effect (having) the air of the palace of an Arabian Tale”.
