Wigtown Book Festival
Since 1997, Wigtown has been Scotland’s National Book Town.
The ten day Wigtown Book Festival at the end of September is an annual event and is one of the top book festivals in Scotland.

Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival
Fast becoming one of Scotland’s most popular traditional music festivals, the Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival is held annually over the 2nd weekend in July in nearby Newton Stewart and Minnigaff. The event includes concerts, workshops, tune and song sessions, pipe band performance, tune and song writing competitions and features well known music.
