From the east, follow the A75 for about 6.5 miles west of Gatehouse of Fleet until you see Carsluith Castle on the seaside of the A75. Turn off at Carsluith Castle and drive west through the courtyard and the lodges are accessed from the far western end of the courtyard. Follow the road through the avenue of birch trees down towards the sea.
From the west, follow the A75 for about 2.5 miles east of Creetown until you see Carsluith Castle on the seaside of the A75. As above, turn off at the Castle and drive to the western end of the courtyard to access the lodges. Follow the road through the avenue of birch trees down towards the sea.

Kirkdale Port, Kirkdale House and Garden Cottage, postcode DG8 7EA
From the east, take the A75 from Dumfries. Head towards Gatehouse of Fleet. 5.5 miles after Gatehouse you will see a brown signpost for CairnHoly Chambered Cairns.
For Garden Cottage and Kirkdale House take the turning for CairnHoly Chambered Cairns. For the cottage take the second driveway and keep left at the first fork in the road. Continue up the hill signposted CairnHoly and after a few hundred yards you will see a sign for Garden Cottage on your left.

For Kirkdale Port, take the first turning on your left 50 yards after the brown CairnHoly sign. Pass Kirkdale Bank house on the first corner and Kirkdale Port is at the very end of the track, about a further quarter of a mile along. The track to Port can be steep and narrow but is perfectly accessible for normal family cars. N.B. Satnav will take you up the hill once at Kirkdale but follow the above instructions to head down towards the sea.

From the west, the cottages are 4 miles east of Creetown along the A75.
For Garden Cottage, take the CairnHoly brown tourist sign then the second drive on your left. Follow the road up the hill (keep left at the fork) for a few hundred yards and you will see Garden Cottage signposted on your left.
For Kirkdale Port from the west, take right down the small track which is BETWEEN the two brown CairnHoly Chambered Cairns signs on the A75. As above you pass Kirkdale Bank and continue for about a quarter of a mile, Kirkdale Port is at the end of the track. The track to Kirkdale Port can be steep and narrow but is perfectly accessible for normal family cars.
